Spellbinders Platinum Christmas Blog Hop!

Good morning!  Today I am so excited as I get to participate in Spellbinders Platinum Christmas Blog Hop with some amazing designers on behalf of JustRite Papercraft.  We are all sharing tutorials, so this is a fun little blog hop.  This is Day 2 and if you didn't say Day 1, hop over to this post on the Spellbinders Blog

Let me start off by showing you the card I created for this event.  If you know my work, you know I love to play with colors and I am not always traditional in colors, so today is one of those posts again.  If you think of Christmas, I am sure this is not color scheme you think of....LOL...nevertheless, this is what I came up with using JustRite Papercraft's Holiday Magic Clear StampsSpellbinders Rustic Wreath 3D M-Bossibilities, Spellbinders Build a Wreath dies and Spellbinders Gold Labels Four dies.

You can see the 3D wreath better on this close up photo.

So let's get started.  Let me show you some of the steps on how I created this card of mine.

First off I covered my embossing plate with Prima's chalk ink in Dry Sand color.

Next I embossed my white card stock with the embossing folder and when I took it out of the folder, this gorgeous piece is what I ended up with.  So love this look.

Next I die cut all my wreath pieces.  Once again I used white card stock, as I wanted to add my own colors to it.

Next I pulled out my bright yellow green shade Pan Pastel and using my foam applicator I colored in my pieces.

Once I colored them all in, I took some foam dots and started putting my layered wreath together and added more green to it for dimension. This is a pretty good picture of what it looked like when I was done with it.

Than I had to create the label for my sentiment, which again I die cut using white card stock and first stamped my sentiment on the label and added Pan Pastel for coloring it.  I was going to use the ribbon die and colored that, too, but later I decided to use a real ribbon instead, but you can see what it looked like colored in.

As final touches, I added my seam binding ribbon bow and candy dots to my wreath and once again, here is what my finished card looks like.  I love that the embossed wreath is poking out underneath the built wreath and that it looks almost snow covered the way the ink it's magic with the embossing folder.

So, let me show you the JustRite Papercraft stamp set I used on this card.  It's called Holiday Magic Clear Stamps and it was designed by Samantha Walker.  It has so many gorgeous possibilities.
