Authentique: Accordion Card

Hi there, I am on the Authentique blog today sharing an Accordion Card I created with our gorgeous "Natural" collection with the help of my Scor-buddy mini Scor-pal, Spellbinders dies, Petaloo flowers and May Arts ribbon.  Here is what it looks like.

First of all I love my Scor-pal and can't live without it.  As a card maker it's very important to me as I need a nice fold on my cards and my Scor-pal delivers every time with no fail.  And let's talk about my Scor-tape.  It's a tape that comes in different width for any project, tears easy to use the amount you need and I can always trust to stay glued, it holds pretty much anything.  Love working with it and have been for many years.  My project was put together with it of course.  So, as I was thinking about how best it would be to show off my tool, I decided to create a Accordion card with folds and found this awesome tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.

How I started was to die cut my front and back using Spellbinders Labels Seventeen out of black card stock.  Than I cut my black card stock for the inside and scored it to create the accordion to fit in between the front and back.  Using one size smaller of the Spellbinders Labels Seventeen I cut out of the patterned paper and used them as my background on the insides.

As I was thinking what I should use for the inside I decided why not use some pictures from our recent vacation to Hawaii.  I thought it was perfect and was able to decorate the pages with the "elements" stickers.

The little stickers were just a perfect way to remember the way we felt on our magical vacation.

Finally let me share how I created the front of my card.  My focal point here was Authentique's Hampton Art stamp called Grateful Heart.  What a beautiful stamp set and it was a perfect addition to the sentiments of my card.  I white embossed it onto black card stock, than cut it out and layered it onto beautiful labels cut out of our papers using Spellbinders Opulant Ovals.  To make this even sweeter I added Petaloo's Penny Lane flowers in pink.  As a final touch, in order to close my Accordion Card I had to add a ribbon and found the perfect touch in my May Arts taupe ribbon.

Well, hope you enjoyed this little project and make sure you come back every day for more inspiration!
