Scrap-mart: Play.Create

Hi there....happy Labor Day to you all!  I have a fun project to share with you today!  I picked up a super fun stamp set by Impression Obsession at Scrap-mart a while back and it has been waiting for me patiently to play with.  This set is called Butterflies.  Looks like it's out of stock right now, but there are so many new Impression Obsession stamps and dies in stock, that surely you will want to check them out.  What I love about this stamp set is that it can be fun to use for journaling, mixed media work and of course cards as well.  So with that thought in mind, I had a wood plaque that was ready to be worked with and here is what I came up with.

First I primed my wood plaque with gesso, than I used a couple of fun Crafter's Workshop stencils along with Ranger Dylusion ink sprays, which are super fun to play with.  I stamped my pretty butterflies on and the words. Once all the spraying and stamping was done I took a white cotton ribbon by May Arts and stamped one of the butterfly wings on it from the stamp set, and inked it up with Tea Dye and Pumice Stone Ranger Distress inks, dried it and wrapped it around my plaque.  I die cut some flourishes using Spellbinders Foliage Two and added it to my ribbon with some pretty Kaisercraft flowers.  At last I added some Kaisercraft Pearls just to add a little more interest.

Here is the plaque from a different angle.

Hope you enjoy this little plaque.  I will be hanging it in my craft room to inspire me every day.  Make sure you check out Scrap-mart for your crafty shopping.  Thanks for visiting and wishing you a fun holiday today!
