OWH Blog Hop

Welcome to Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop!  What a great cause to participate in!  I thought it would be fun to make some cards and send them off so someone can put a smile on a loved ones face.

I made two cards for todays occasion.  Since they need to be mailed I kept them rather simple.  I sure hope they will be appreciated.  My first card uses JustRite Papercrafts newest stamp set called Anchors Away, which I colored in with Ranger Distress inks.  The paper I used is from Samantha Walker's Creative Imaginations Nautical paper line, which I thought was masculine and patriotic colors as well and fit the bill in my eyes.

My second card is more of a feminine card and is made using Samantha Walkers Creative Imaginations Tea Party paper line, which is just beautiful!  The sentiment I embossed onto the label using black embossing powder and the stamp came from Samantha's Unity Stamp set called Encompassed Grace, which is probably my favorite from Samantha.

Well, that is it as I am trying to keep this short and simple.  I know there are a lot of participants, so you want to check out what everyone created!  Make sure you hop over to the official Operations Write Home Blog to see all the participants posts.

Well, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Great map frame and wonderful paper choices too! These both came out very nicely. I like distressing too, It often seems to be the "just right" finishing touch. Thanks for joining in the Memorial Day hop and for supporting OWH!

Your cards are beautiful. I especially love the masculine one - it can be so difficult to find a good card for a guy and yours is amazing!

Both are stunning cards in their coloring & composition. I am curious how you 'color' using distress inks.

Eva, both your cards are terrific! I have to admit my jaw dropped open at the first one. It's a stunner!

They're both so fabulous! But I have to admit that I had mad love for the first one. It's so difficult to do guy cards and I find myself falling back on the same brown/sepia or blues. But you really added some fabulous dimensions to yours!
