Tim Holtz March Technique tag

Happy Hump Day!  I hope you are having a great week!  I am enjoying mine, busy, but it's been a good week so far.  Last Saturday I went to scrapbooking with my friends, which I haven't done since the beginning of December, so it was a much needed break and catch up time with friends.

I allowed myself to just have fun and for the first time work on things that were not part of any commitments, and just for the heck of it....LOL.  Nice for change! So I made two cards and this tag, all in 10 hours...LOL.  Well, we had a lot of chatting time, so it was great!

Anyway, today I am sharing my Tim Holtz tag and I am sharing with you my experiences, so you can learn from them yourself, as I made a few booboos, and contemplated whether I should post it, or not, but I thought it would be ok to post, so you can learn from my mistakes.

So here are the two things not to do apparently.  I didn't pay attention about what type of ink to use for the sentiment.  Make sure you DO NOT use Distress ink for it, as once you spray it with the Pearl spray it will react to it and spread and your sentiment will wash out, just like mine and won't be able to read it.  So I should have used the Archival ink instead, or even Palette would have worked I believe. Anyway, learn from my mistake....LOL  Another thing I noticed and perhaps it was due to the tag I used, which was from Kelly Paper, but once I stamped my wood stamp on, I used my heat gun on the tag and the color of my ink totally faded.  I am not 100% sure why, but that is what happened so it's not so pretty.

I didn't have the pretty metal things Tim has on his tag, so I came up with my own version using his pretty doily edge die and I just added some pretty flowers in the corner.  Overall, if things had worked good, I think it would have been a prettier tag, but at least I got the technique down with the butterflies, so it was a great experience.  Now if you are looking for the background stamp, Scrap-mart has it in stock, so you can pick it up there.

Well, that is it for today.  Tomorrow I will share one of the cards I made.  :)  Have a wonderful day!
