Thrifty Thursday: Create your own custom labels

Today’s Thrifty Thursday Technique at Urban Anthology and using this technique is something I have been doing for a while now, so I thought I would share it. I get questions on how I create the shapes of my cards sometimes and it's based on this exact idea, so there you have it, you got my secret...hehehe. I love shapes and specially for journaling, or just for special effects on layouts or on my cards. So what I have been doing is tracing the shapes I love onto the papers I want to create my labels with.

Here you can see some labels that I picked out, just a few really to show my point with. I have used the K&Co label so many times, and don’t ever tire of it. Than I just picked up the new Making Memories little labels yesterday and I totally love one of the shapes, so that is the one I picked to work with for this sample.

So, just pick out the label you want to use as a template, trace it, then cut it out. In this case I worked with the June Urban Anthology kit.

And here is my final card I made using this custom created label. I used my favorite Unity stamps called Birdie Inspirations, that is another set that is a staple for me....I love everything about it. Oh, and the center image.....don't you just love it??? That was created by our very own uber talented DT member, Keri. This is the second month she has designed custom tags to go with the kits and let me tell you, they are FANTASTIC!!! This month she created kind of retro look to go with the yummy Basic Grey Wisteria. And if you like what you see....wait till you see next month!!!!! OMG!!!! I have seen them already and I am sooooo dying to use those...this girl is sooo talented! I am in love with everything she has designed so far, but the July kit's tags are flippin gorgeus!!!! Anyway, feasts your eyes on one of her creations from this month...what do you think???

Hope this inspires to take a look at all those shapes you buy and create a custom label of your own. Have fun and let me see your creations!

Have a fun Thursday!
