My 3rd week Bad Girls layout

My friends and I have been playing along on the Bad Girls site, as we are participating in their Top Designer School 2008, which is a contest, who is going to be the Top 2008 Designer. I joined, as if nothing else I will make a layout each week, which is a push for me. Cards come easy for me, but layouts take longer, as I keep playing with them, adding to them, and let's just face it, just do a lot of sit and stare at them in trying to figure out what the hey is going to be my next step.

Anyway, this week was an interesting challenge for Ching, Karen and I, as we all seem to be more of a..... let's just say not so simple style type of a scrappers. And of course the way has it, that we had to create a layout that is simple, but nice of course. Well,s I had to think about it all week how am I going to tackle this and kept putting it off. Last week thankfully I was going over older photos of my son and just pictures I have had generally from the past and I came across some photos that were taken by our good friend, Joe in New Jersey and Shawn was only 5 years old. I have to admit, as I was going through the photos my heart was tugging, as he is just so darn cute!!!!! I am sure you will agree once you see the layout.

Also as luck would have it, my friend Ching, who has been dubbed to be my favorite personal shopper.....hehehe.... was able to snatch some new yummy Sassafrass papers, so when we got together to scrap last Saturday, I was able to get my hands on them. I just LOVE them!!! They are soooooo adorable. I don't think there is another company who makes more adorable papers than Sassafrass.

So, the layout is suppose to be with the thought of "less is more" with a good balance and of course unity of the elements used on the layout. I really tried, really, really.....hehehhehe. Funny enough, this layout didn't take that long to make. I guess it's faster when you don't have so much stuff going on....hehehe. Hmmmm.....that's a new concept for me, who loves to load on everything, as I just want a masterpiece each time. So this weeks lesson could be beneficial to me in the long run. We shall see, if I get to move onto the 4th week, which sadly would be my last week, as I am leaving out of town the following Monday and won't get to play and finish the contest. Ok, I think I wrote enough again, so finally here is my layout. If you are looking at it, please let me know what you think of my "less is more" layout....hehehe. And as always, thanks for looking at my blog. I so appreciate it! I sure love looking at so many people's and even though my blog is so new, as I really only started in July, I am beginning to make new friends all over and I just love that aspect. One more reason, why I love this hobby!!! Well, I have to run now, so here is the layout. Have a great weekend, and till later........Eva

PS........I wasn't really, really loving my layout, so I added some more little details and now I am happy with it. Took some pictures of the details, hope you like it better this way.

Have a great Sunday!

Eva
